As the footage coming out grows increasingly less, and Iranians access to the internet is so minimal they can barely stay online, the ability for all of us to get news dwindles.
The government suppression has been extreme and harsh. What I have been told by Iranians who speak to friends and family in Tehran is that the clubs used to beat the people have chemicals on them which causes the people to die within 24 hours. The physicians who work on the people are afraid to work on them without gloves because the chemicals spread.
The enormous courage, the beauty of Persians ability to use language is breathtaking. Even under stress, in a foreign language, their words glint like diamonds off the little 140 character sentences on twitter. Rumi lives and breathes through their souls. The heart of Rumi beats in their hearts.
And it is our honor to be a part, any small part of bringing this story to light, their story, the story of the Persians seeking freedom, seeking Democracy.
Their enormous discipline to continue to seek freedom peacefully is absolutely awe inspiring. Under such phenomenally pressured circumstances, still in the face of massive brutality, they seek peace, unity, brotherhood.
On 9-11, the world was American. Today, let the world be Iranian, stand together, stand strong, speak up, sign the petition to the United Nations, march, assist in any way you are able to.
